Frequently Asked Questions

About Bionil OW S AL

Why is the AL series special for soft metals such as brass and copper?

Soft metals such as brass and copper quickly dull and darken in aggressive alkaline environments, losing surface value. Thanks to its reduced alkali content and special inhibitor package, Bionil OW S AL preserves the natural brightness of these metals; it is the preferred choice especially in the production of decorative fittings and electronic components.

Can it be used after polishing?

Yes, it is an ideal product for removing polishing paste, wax and residues adhering to the surface after polishing. It ensures the surface is perfectly clean before electroplating or painting; otherwise, blistering and adhesion problems will appear under the coating.

What is the operating temperature in an ultrasonic bath?

For brass and copper, the optimum operating temperature range is 55-70°C. This range maximizes cleaning power while protecting the surface from thermal discoloration. Prolonged immersion above 80°C may cause color change.
