Bionil OW S 100

General-Purpose Degreasing Chemical

Bionil OW series chemicals are very powerful, concentrated and economical chemicals developed for cleaning and degreasing metal parts in rotary-basket pressure washing machines, ultrasonic systems and washing tunnels. They remove all kinds of oil, dirt, wax, grease, cutting oils, process soils as well as carbon, paint and polishing residues from metal surfaces and protect the surface against rust. They comply with EU norms and are harmless to the environment, human health and waste-water treatment systems. They are biodegradable and decompose completely. They contain no solvents, phosphates or silicone. S 100 is suitable for the widest range of surfaces for general use (galvanized, brass, copper, polished, iron/steel/plastic).

Key Features

  • Compliant with EU norms
  • Solvent/phosphate/silicone-free
  • Biodegradable
  • Does not emulsify with oil (oil collects on top of the bath and can be separated)
  • Compatible with many surfaces and machines

Frequently Asked Questions

About Bionil OW S 100

What is the difference between S 100 and S 300? When to use which?

S 100 is general-purpose — it is used in baths with mixed parts of galvanized, brass, copper, polished and iron/steel/plastic. S 300, on the other hand, is a formula with higher alkaline content optimized solely for iron-steel-plastic. If you have a mixed production line, S 100 is the choice; for a single line processing only steel/iron parts, S 300 is more efficient.

Why is not forming an oil-water emulsion important?

Conventional cleaners emulsify the oil into the water and the bath is exhausted in a short time. OW S 100 keeps the oil separate on the bath surface; this way the oil can be continuously collected with a simple surface separator (skimmer), the bath life is extended 2-3 times and waste disposal costs drop.

What is the operating temperature in an ultrasonic bath?

For optimum ultrasonic cleaning, the bath temperature should be kept between 70-90°C. At this temperature both the effectiveness of the surfactants is at its maximum and the ultrasonic cavitation power is at its highest level. Below 50°C the cleaning power drops noticeably.
