Frequently Asked Questions

About Bionil WR Robot Welding Torch Anti-Spatter

How does it differ from manual application on robot welding lines?

With manual application the operator has to spray the torch every shift, which means line stoppages and inconsistent film thickness. By integrating Bionil WR into the robot torch maintenance station, it is dosed automatically according to the welding cycle time; on continuous production lines human intervention drops to zero.

How much does it extend torch life?

With regular WR application, spatter build-up on the torch tip (contact tip) and the gas nozzle is minimized. In field-reported usage, the contact-tip replacement interval increases by a factor of 2-3, gas-flow stability is maintained and the weld defect rate drops noticeably.

How is automatic dosing carried out?

It is filled directly into the reservoir of the robot torch maintenance station (e.g. ABB BullsEye, Fanuc Cleaning Station). The cycle parameters are set to 5-10 seconds of application followed by a blow-off. The dosing amount is calibrated according to the line speed and amperage.
